A few weeks ago, it was revealed that David Beckham would be joining a new London-based esports organisation, Guild Esports as a co-owner - and naturally that spread across mainstream press almost instantaneously.

However, recently a report by The Esports Observer has shown that the star was paid $20 million to be the face of the organisation. To uphold his contract, Beckham is also only required to complete one photoshoot, make one TV/video content shoot, make two public appearances, and complete 12 social media posts over the course of a year, for the next five years.

After its booming launch, Guild Esports has become quite valuable, partly in thanks to Beckham's placing, who now even owns a 4.78% stake in the organisation.
